Phnom Penh, July 3, 2024 – During a recent meeting, Shaharuddin Bin Onn, the Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia, expressed his deep gratitude to Prime Minister Hun Manet for taking the time to meet with him and his delegation. Ambassador Shaharuddin Bin Onn conveyed his honor at being appointed as the Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia. He highlighted the strong relations and cooperation between Malaysia and Cambodia and affirmed his commitment to further strengthening and expanding these ties during his diplomatic mission.
Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the ambassador and his delegation, congratulating Shaharuddin Bin Onn on his appointment and extending warm regards to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Hun Manet praised the progress of diplomatic relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia.
During their discussions, the Prime Minister and the Ambassador focused on enhancing and expanding cooperation in several key areas, including politics, security and defense, economy, tourism, education and vocational training, biology, and people-to-people connections. They also discussed promoting cooperation on establishing a halal food industrial park to develop Cambodia’s halal sector for both domestic and international markets.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Hun Manet wished Ambassador Shaharuddin Bin Onn success in his diplomatic mission and encouraged him to continue working closely with relevant ministries and institutions of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
